The Yin and Yang: "No Vaccine Card, No Transaction"

Ever since the COVID-19 vaccines were introduced to the masses, people have been vying for a spot to get injected immediately, while some don't due to personal reasons or unavailability of the vaccines.

Thus, vaccination cards were in the picture. These small cards would open up to new discounts and promos to everyone who has it, in some places it is required to be shown when entering shops or buildings.

But then, a wave of complaints from the unvaccinated arised saying how unfair the system is, posting their rage on social media that garners a lot of attention. Some really just make you get a good laugh but then it raises the question: "What about the unvaccinated with health complications?"

On their part there would be unfair points. An example of this is how they will enter certain stores and establishments for their basic needs. Since they don't have a vaccination card, they won't be able to enter and buy their essentials especially in emergencies.

Another example is discrimination. We all know that when we come face to face with someone who isn't vaccinated, we immediately think that it is selfish of them to not get the vaccine and encourage them to get it. One single cough or sneeze from them and people would panic in an instant and blame them for not getting the vaccine.

Implementing alternative solutions could help make it fair for those who can't have the vaccine and still keep people safe. Alternative solutions such as a different card which contains information about your health condition signed by a doctor or not applying this law to establishments where you can get your basic needs could help these people even without a vaccination card.

Getting vaccinated is important in these times where we need to get as much protection as we can. These mandated laws are helpful to minimise the risk of the virus but then are unfair for the rest who can't and still don't have the vaccine for valid reasons.
