ExplainED PH - Aklan’s youth election survey held last November to December 2021 provided an unexpected result: many of the Aklanon youths remain uncertain about who to vote for as governor and vice governor in the province.
In the gubernatorial survey with 425 respondents, 40.9% are still undecided, whilst the vice-gubernatorial race shows 53.9% undecided.
But the surveys still sported winners: Jo-en Miraflores (34.4%) as Governor and Reynaldo Quimpo (20.5%) as the Vice Governor despite the enormous percentage of uncertainty.
Miraflores is followed by William Lachica (23.8%), Willie Tolentino (0.5%), and Ray Torres (0.5%).
On the other hand, Quimpo is closely tailed by Nolly Sodusta (15.5%) and Jonathan Cabrera (10.1%)
In hindsight, incumbent Governor Florencio Miraflores has tasked his son Jo-en to continue his legacy in governing the province of Aklan. Meanwhile, Reynaldo Quimpo attempts to retain his position as Aklan’s Vice Governor.
In order to arrive at these results, the survey was conducted through Google Forms and was sent to multiple colleges and organizations such as the SK Federation of Aklan to maximize reach.
