Multiple supporters of VP Leni Robredo caught online attention after the presidential candidate's visit to the province of Aklan.
During the campaign trail, thousands of Aklanons were able to witness the vice president in the flesh. Among these Aklanon Kakampinks, a handful of them were able to show their support, which was received by not only Robredo herself, but as well as thousands of fellow supporters around the country.
First, when the motorcade steadily made its way to the rally venue, many supporters waved and cheered, as VP Leni and Sen. Kiko drove down the streets. Among these supporters was an elderly man who touched the hearts of many with his sincere message to Robredo.
"Ikaw lang ang pag-asa namin," he tearfully told her, holding a tarp of Robredo's image.
After the main event kicked off in the Aklan Catholic College Annex, Robredo took notice of a person with a disability (PWD) who was holding placard that read, "Nawala man ang mga paa ko, matalino naman ako sa pagboto." Robredo applauded the man for highlighting the value of voter wisdom.
Similarly, Robredo also pointed to one of the supporters that proudly hoisted another placard, right in time for the day after Valentine's: "Jowa < Leni," which Robredo, along with hundreds of other Kakampinks, found humorous.
"Pinili nila ako kaysa sa mga jowa nila," she remarked.
Furthermore, at the end of the event, two women of the Ati community from Bulwang, Numancia presented the vice president with a pair of garlands. Robredo gifted them back with a tight embrace, while the lights of the venue flicker along the blasting music.
