Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Nov. 13 has formally adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as its vice presidential bet in the 2022 elections.
In an executive committee resolution released by the PFP, the party has endorsed Duterte-Carpio as the running mate of its official presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., son of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
The Davao City Mayor, through Atty. Reynold Munsayac, filed her certificate of candidacy for vice presidency post earlier today following the withdrawal of Lakas-CMD vice presidential bet Lyle Uy.
Filipinos have flooded Twitter with the hashtag #NoToDuterteMarcos2022, as they react to the turn of events regarding Sara Duterte’s candidacy.
“The tandem of Marcos-Duterte is perhaps the most insidious coalition of political dynasties in recent history. We need to unite against them now more than ever,” Rey Valmores-Salinas, spokesperson of Bahaghari, a national democratic organization, wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte will run for vice president in the May 2022 elections.
Moreover, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa withdrew his candidacy for president under PDP-Laban while Senator Bong Go filed his certificate of candidacy for president under Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) after backing out of the vice presidential race.
